There are two parts to Fraileach. The first part is a wood fired Sauna that over looks the dramatic North Sea at Port Erroll Harbour. We are located at the very edge of the harbour wall which allows you to look out to the sea and waves while you enjoy the warmth of the Sauna.
We offer not only a restorative experience by the crackling fire and the smell of the wood burner and salty sea air but an immersive experience in nature and coastal life. The working harbour is also a site for fisherman, coastal walks, motorhomes and a cosy cafe just a minute away, so there is plenty to do during your visit here.
The sheltered harbour water is approx. 20m away from the sauna, you can use the harbour for dipping to cool down but please note, to swim you are best to book at high tide (please remember your tow float as this is a working harbour). With home crafted Sauna hats and L’oly steam there isn’t a better way to spend an hour to reconnect with nature and chill. Fraileach Sauna sits 8 and sessions include shared session or exclusive use.
The second part of Fraileach, we hope to soon have in place, is a log cabin which will showcase our coastal-inspired art and crafts. Each piece of art reflects our passion for wild swimming, the sea and nature. Although our cabin isn’t on site yet, we do have some pieces available online to order.
Whether you come to unwind in the sauna or to find a unique piece for your home, Fraileach is a place to slow down, reset and take something beautiful away with you.
We hope you enjoy our ‘Arty Sauna’ at Fraileach

Where you can find us
We’re based in Aberdeenshire, Scotland, at Port Erroll harbour in Cruden Bay — a charming, characterful coastal village. Our studio sits right on the harbour, with uninterrupted views across the North Sea. Port Erroll harbour is an active fishing harbour you’ll often see creel fishing and find holidaymakers, harbour users and walkers about, so the atmosphere can be lively and welcoming.
To avoid congestion, we recommend parking in the nearby Port Erroll carpark; it’s a short, pleasant walk from there.
