Fraileach Sauna
Nestled in the heart of Port Erroll harbour in Cruden Bay, is the Fraileach sauna which comfortably accommodates up to eight people. Available for both shared bookings and exclusive hire, each one-hour session is £15.
For regular visitors, a monthly subscription of £45 provides four sessions per calendar month. That’s one session a month free!
You can also hire the sauna exclusively, perhaps for recovery after exercise, celebrations, social gatherings or just because you are worth it. This is £95, you have 8 seats for 1 hour.
We aim to achieve a zero‑carbon footprint. Please bring your own towel and water bottle. We will provide towels and bottled water for anyone who forgets, but reducing laundry and single‑use plastics by bringing your own items helps lower our collective carbon emissions.
Experience soothing warmth and harbour views in a relaxed, welcoming setting.

Booking our wood-fired sauna
Experience the slow, soot-scented warmth of a traditional wood-fired sauna—carefully maintained. Before you book, please read the key details and steps below to ensure a safe, comfortable and enjoyable visit.
Availability and booking
Check available dates and times on our booking page or contact us to confirm slot availability.
Bookings require payment in full to secure your session.
Please arrive 10–15 minutes before your session so we can complete the safety briefing.
Arrival and preparation
Wear swimwear
Remove jewellery before entering the sauna to avoid burns from hot metal.
Leave alcohol for another time; intoxication is not permitted in the sauna.
We are near the sea, and you may swim to cool off during your session; please be aware that any swimming is at your own risk.
For insurance purposes, you will be asked to fill out a waiver and agree to T&C’s form for your first visit.
Health and safety
The sauna reaches high temperatures and involves steam from pouring water on hot stones. If you have heart conditions, high blood pressure, are pregnant, or have other medical concerns, consult your GP before booking.
Stay hydrated: drink water before and after your session. Alcohol and saunas do not mix. We can provide water during your session.
We will provide a brief on stove safety and emergency procedures. Our staff will manage the stove throughout your session.
Wood fire operation and etiquette
The wood-fired stove gives a uniquely gentle, humid heat. We preheat the sauna before sessions.
Avoid excessive splashing on the stove stones. If you’d like more steam, ask us and we will add water gradually.
Keep the door opening brief to maintain heat and minimise smoke.
Use the ladle and bucket provided; do not throw water directly from your hands or bottles.
Cancellation and rescheduling
Please notify us at least 48 hours in advance to cancel or reschedule for a full refund.
Late cancellations (within 48 hours) will forfeit the booking.
We may cancel sessions in case of severe weather or safety concerns; full refunds will be issued.
Accessibility and special requests
We have an even path to the sauna and a ramp leading to the sauna door; contact us before booking if you have mobility needs so we can advise or make reasonable adjustments.
If you have a special occasion or require private hire, ask about extended bookings and bespoke arrangements.
