Terms and Conditions

1. Acceptance of Term

Use of the wood-fired sauna and any associated cold-water swimming or immersion facilities constitutes acceptance of these Terms & Conditions. All users agree to comply with operational, safety, and always conduct requirements.

2. Use at Own Risk

Use of the sauna and participation in cold water swimming, plunging, dipping, or immersion activities is entirely at the user’s own risk.

The owner/operator accepts no liability for:

·        Injury, illness, burns, slips, falls, drowning, cold water shock, hypothermia, allergic reaction, dehydration, or medical events;

·        Loss, theft, or damage to personal property;

·        Any incident arising from failure to follow safety instructions or operational guidance.

·        Users are solely responsible for determining their own physical fitness and capability to participate safely.

3. Health and Medical Conditions

If any of the below apply to you (please note, this is not a comprehensive list) we advise you to seek your GP’s advice: -

·        If you've had a heart attack or stroke

·        If you're taking any medications

·        If you have cardiovascular conditions and/or problems

·        You have epilepsy

·        You have asthma or respiratory conditions

·        Uncontrolled high or low blood pressure

·        If you have arterial disease

·        If you have joint or muscle injury or any condition affected by heat or cold exposure;

  • Are pregnant unless medically approved;

  • Feel unwell, dizzy, fatigued, or medically unfit.

Users with medical concerns should seek professional medical advice before participation.

4. Minimum Age Requirements

  • Persons under 16 years of age must be always supervised by a responsible adult.

  • Children must not operate the stove, fire equipment, or sauna controls.

5. Wood-Fired Stove Safety

For fire safety and insurance compliance:

  • Only authorised persons may light, fuel, or manage the wood-fired stove.

  • Stove doors must remain closed during operation except during controlled refuelling.

  • Users must not interfere with the flue, ventilation, fire guards, or safety equipment.

6. Water Safety Requirements

Users participating in cold water activities must:

  • Assess water conditions before entry;

  • Enter the water gradually and responsibly;

  • Never swim alone where possible;

  • Avoid prolonged exposure;

  • Exit the water immediately if experiencing distress, numbness, dizziness, or breathing difficulty.

Cold-Water Swimming/Plunge and Dipping is done so completely at your own risk and is NOT covered by our Insurance Policy

7. Prohibited Behaviour

The following are strictly prohibited:

  • Alcohol or drug use before or during sauna or water activities;

  • Smoking, vaping, or open flames within or near the sauna;

  • Unsafe behaviour, horseplay, or excessive risk-taking;

  • Bringing glass items into sauna or water areas;

  • Use of accelerants or unauthorised fuels;

  • Tampering with safety equipment or signage.

8. Hydration and Safe Use

Users are encouraged to:

  • Stay hydrated before and after sauna or cold-water exposure;

  • Water is provided for sauna users;

  • Limit exposure times appropriately;

  • Leave the sauna or water immediately if feeling faint, dizzy, unwell, or distressed.

9. Emergency Procedures

In the event of injury, fire, water emergency, or equipment malfunction:

  • Users must immediately cease activity and evacuate if necessary;

  • Emergency services must be contacted where required;

  • The operator or responsible person must be informed without delay.

10. Damage and Liability

Users may be held financially responsible for damage caused through negligence, misuse, vandalism, unsafe conduct, or breach of these Terms & Conditions.

11. Compliance with Instructions

All users must comply with:

  • Posted signage and safety notices;

  • Verbal instructions from operators or staff;

  • Operational procedures and emergency guidance.

Failure to comply may result in immediate removal from the premises without refund.

12. Right to Refuse Use

The owner/operator reserves the right to refuse or terminate access where a person:

  • Appears intoxicated or medically unfit;

  • Acts irresponsibly or aggressively;

  • Creates a fire, water, or safety risk;

  • Breaches these Terms & Conditions.

  • Has not signed a waiver form

13. Insurance & Safety Compliance

These Terms & Conditions form part of the site’s health, safety, and insurance compliance procedures. Breach of these conditions may invalidate permission to use the facilities.

14. Sauna etiquette

·        Entering and exiting the sauna with care.

  •        Removing shoes before entering.

  •        Always sitting on a towel.

  •        Staying in the sauna for no longer than 20 min at a time (we recommend 5-15 min sessions)

  •        Do not use essential oils in the sauna without permission.

  •        Only swimwear may be worn in the sauna.

  •        Nudity is not permitted.

15. Acknowledgement

By using the wood-fired sauna and/or participating in cold water swimming or immersion activities, users acknowledge and accept:

  • The inherent risks associated with heat exposure, wood-fired appliances, and cold-water activities;

  • Responsibility for their own safety and wellbeing;

  • These Terms & Conditions in full.

If you are making a booking on behalf of a group, it is your responsibility to make all users aware of the terms and conditions and to practice safe sauna use, as well as making others aware of what to bring and other useful information.

We reserve the right to refuse admission for any reason that may be deemed a health and safety risk. Refunds will not be offered to anyone refused admission.
